FAQs:

1. How do I access the lounge?

Download and register for the new Mastercard application “Mastercard Airport Pass MEA”, whereby you will be able to access the lounge through a QR presentment.

Alternative option would be to use the web solution mastecardmea.dragonpass.com to register and print the membership document containing the QR and show this physical paper to gain lounge access.

2. Do I have to present my Card when entering the lounge?

The cardholder will no longer be required to present their physical card. Instead, the process is a full end-to-end journey of finding a nearby lounge, accessing the lounge through QR code and any subsequent charges, will all be done and presented via the new app.

3. Which Ithmaar Credit card types are eligible to access the lounges?

World, Platinum, Titanium & Business Cards.

4. Can I access Bahrain Airport Lounge?

Currently only World Credit cardholders can access the “Pearl lounge” at Bahrain International Airport.

5. What are the advantages of the existing app?

It is easy and simple to download and register, no hassle of showing physical card or priority pass, you will receive an e-receipt and be able to view history all in the app itself. It is an end-to-end fully digitised process.

6. What are the eligible lounges available for me?

There are more than 1,100 eligible lounges available for Ithmaar World cardholders, 25 + selected lounges for Ithmaar Platinum cardholders and 10+ selected lounges for Ithmaar Titanium cardholders. However, to view your eligible lounges please download the “Mastercard Airport Pass MEA” application. As the eligible lounges depend on your card type and country of origin.

        7. Do I get charged if I enter the lounge?

        No charges are issued for entering the eligible list of lounges for the primary and supplementary cardholder. (Both cardholders should download the app. and present the QR code individually)

        8. Does my guest get charged?

        Any guests entering with the primary card holder will be charged a fee of $32 per visit. This charge will be reflected in the primary cardholder’s card.

        9. Do I have to register my Primary and supplementary cards?

        Yes, both primary and supplementary cardholders need to download the “Mastercard Airport Pass MEA” app and register their individual Mastercard cards, since the procedure of accessing the lounge will be applied on each cardholder separately, and to avoid additional guest charges.

        10. How do I know if I got charged?

        When the cardholder pays for their visits (and any guests) this is charged directly to the customer’s card, registered on the app, and a receipt is sent via email showing a breakdown of the charges.

        11. If I have a Debit Card can I access the lounge?

        Yes, Ithmaar Debit Plus and Ithmaar Premier Debit cardholders will have access to the Platinum lounge benefits of the “Mastercard Airport Pass MEA” app. Cardholders will have access to 25+ selected lounges, unlimited free visits and $32 per guest accompanying the cardholder.

        12. If I have an issue with the registration process, who do I contact?

        Please contact our Cards Call Centre on 13313000.

        13. If I experience fraud with my card, what should I do next to access the lounge?

        Please contact the Bank on 13313000 to de-activate your card or via the mobile app and receive a new one. Accordingly, you can enter the “Mastercard Airport Pass MEA” app and click “Replace Card” button under “Membership card Details” in the app. This will remove previous card and ask cardholder to enter new card number.

        14. If I renew/re-issue my card, what should I do next to access the airport lounge?

        Re-issued cards (with same card numbers) will not have any impact on lounge access. Cardholders will continue to use the “Mastercard Airport Pass” app seamlessly.

        However, if the card is renewed or is replaced (card number has changed), you can enter the “Mastercard Airport Pass MEA” app and to click “Replace Card” button under “Membership card Details” in the app. This will replace previous card and ask cardholder to enter new Mastercard card number. Please note that once a card is replaced, the same card cannot be added again on the app.

        15. Can I access the lounge if my card is not active?

        Access to the lounge will only be valid if the card is active.

        16. In case of any complain on any incident related to lounge access, which number do I call?

8. How and when can I receive my monthly credit card eStatement?

You will receive your eStatement by 16th of each month, which will be sent to your email address.

9. What is OTP (one-time password)?

Should the cardholder use his card online, he will be requested to enter a password. Ithmaar Bank will send the cardholder via SMS, a One Time Password (OTP) to be used for that particular transaction.

10. How do I pay my credit card monthly due?

You can make the monthly payment towards your credit card by several ways such as:

1)Standing instruction to debit your Account and credit your Card Account

2)Online payment, by visiting our website www.Ithmaarbank.com or Mobile application.

11. Do I have to have an account with the Bank in order to get a credit card?

You can apply for your Ithmaar Bank credit card even if you do not have an account with the Bank. In such a case, you may pay your credit card dues using any other debit card account issued in Bahrain.

Ithmaar rewards programme

1. How can I get updated on the number of points that I have?

Please refer to our website www.ithmaarbank.com and log in to Ithmaar Rewards.

2. How do I log in to Ithmaar rewards?

You need to enter your ID number, your credit card number and your registered telephone number.

3. Where can I redeem my existing accumulated points?

You can redeem your points by selecting the following:

1) Cash back

2) Flight reservation

3) Hotel booking

4) Car rental

6) Charity donation

4. What is the expiry date of my points?

The validity of all points earned will be 2 years.

5. What is the value of each redeemed point?

The value of each redeemed point will be as follows:

1)Cash back: 12 fils

2)Flight reservation: 12 fils

3)Hotel booking: 12 fils

4)Car rental: 12 fils

6)Charity Donations: 12 fils

Effective 10 June 2022, the value of each redeemed point mentioned above will be 8 fils.

6. If I have a problem in my booking using my points where should I call?

You can call Ithmaar rewards Support toll free at 8000 4382 24 hours a day / 7 days a week

7. If I cancel my hotel booking or flight reservation, using my points, will I receive them back to my card account?

Yes, your points will be credited to your card account.

8. I am a cardholder, how many points am I entitled to?

As of 1st July, no new points will be accumulated. You will be enrolled in an automatic cashback scheme for any new transactions made as of July 1. Please refer to Ithmaar rewards section for more information on the scheme. However, any existing points that you currently have can be redeemed via our online channels.

1. How do I find out the due amount?

You can find out the monthly due amount from:

1) your monthly statement

2) eBanking

3) Mobile application

You will also receive a monthly SMS message with the same information.

2. How do I know the minimum payment amount?

You can find out the monthly minimum payment from

3. When is the due date of paying the minimum?

The due date of paying the minimum is the 9th of the next month of the statement month. You will also receive a monthly statement message with the same information.

4. How can I cancel my card?

You can visit any Ithmaar Bank branch with your request, and fill a form.

5. When will I receive my new card?

You will receive your new card in the coming few days.

6. How will I receive my new card?

The card courier (ARAMEX or TAM) will contact you and will arrange the card to be delivered to your place.

7. How do I receive my new PIN?

You will receive your new PIN via an SMS message sent to your registered phone number with the Bank.

8. How can I file a dispute?

You can file for a dispute by visiting our website, by visiting a branch or calling our Call Centre on 13 313000.

9. How long does a dispute take?

The full dispute cycle will take at least 45 days.

10. How do I know if my dispute is rejected?

You will be updated via SMS message.

11. How do I know if my dispute was accepted?

You will be updated via SMS message, and the disputed amount will be credited to your account.

12. How do I know if my disputed amount was refunded?

You will receive a refund message via SMS message.

13. What should I verify before filing a dispute?

Before filing a dispute case, you need to make sure that the disputed transaction is not committed by yourself.

14. What will happen if I lose a dispute case?

If you lose the dispute case, you will not be charged any amount.

15. What are the card functionalities available on the eBanking channel?

When accessing your eBanking account, you will be able to conduct several functions including:

1) View your card transactions.

2) Pay your card dues.

3) Request for a new card or supplementary card.

4) Stop the card.

16. How do I stop a card in case of suspected fraud, via eBanking, Mobile App or Call Centre?

Upon suspected fraud call 13 313000 immediately and request to stop the card. You can also do that through eBanking.

17. What will I see in my monthly statement

The monthly statement includes:

1) All transactions which took place during the same month.

2) The outstanding balance from the previous month.

3) Any fees or charges.

18. When do I expect the monthly outstanding SMS

On monthly basis and specifically on the 15th of each month, you will receive an SMS message, advising you that your eStatement has been issued. It will contain the outstanding balance, the minimum payment due and the due date.

19. What do I do if I lose my card?

If you lose your card call 13 313000 immediately and request to stop the card. You can also do that through eBanking.

20. Why are my cards not accepted in some restaurants?

Since Ithmaar Bank is an Islamic Bank, the card will not be accepted at outlets that sell certain products and services such as:

1) Purchase of alcohol

2) Engaging in gambling activities

3) Unethical websites or activities

21. How do I escalate a problem if it is not solved by the first line of support?

You can always raise an official complaint via our website or calling the Call Centre on 13 313000

22. Can I share my full card number?
Can I share the CVV code?
Can I share the card expiry date?

Please do not share any of these information with anybody. Otherwise you will be exposed to fraudulent activities.

23. Does the bank ask for the OTP code?

No, the bank will never ask for OTP codes to be declared to anybody.

24. The contactless feature of my card is not working?

Please make sure that your card is contactless enabled. Otherwise contact your Call Centre to verify it on 13313000 or 13303030

25. Does my card work with BenefitPay?

Yes, both debit and credit cards work with BenefitPay. You need to upload your cards on the BenefitPay application.

26. What is the billed amount?

A billed amount is the amount due to the Bank by end of the month.

27. What is the transaction amount?

The transaction amount is the transaction that is committed by the cardholder on the transaction date. It might be different than the billed amount.

28. I have subscribed with OSN / Netflix, can I stop my subscription, and avoid any extra charges?

Yes, you can do that. All you need to send a request to our call center with your card details. You subscription will be stopped accordingly
